India@75: With 'Panch Pran' and emphasis on 'Nari Shakti', PM lays out roadmap for India in 'amrit kaal'

Former prime minister and Congress stalwart Jawaharlal Nehru, Hindutva idealogue V D Savarkar, Socialist leader Ram Manohar Lohia and revolutionary Ashfaqulla Khan featured in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Independence Day speech on Monday. Modi also recalled contributions of tribal and women revolutionaries. Modi on Monday said corruption and nepotism are two main challenges that are not confined to politics alone and asked people to have 'nafrat' (hatred) for these evils and focus on 'Panch Pran' (five resolves) to ensure a developed India in the next 25 years. Meanwhile, global leaders led by US President Joe Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron congratulated Indians on the 75th anniversary of India's independence on Monday, as they vowed to further strengthen bilateral ties with the world's largest democracy which has made stunning achievements.

    Prime Minister Modi said, "We should remember those who fought for Independence and built the nation -- Dr Rajendra Prasad, Nehru ji, Sardar Patel, Shyama Prasad Mookerjee, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Deendayal Upadhyaya, Jai Prakash Narayan, Ram Manohar Lohia, Vinoba Bhave, Nanaji Deshmukh, Subramaniam Bharati -- it is the day to bow before such great people."

    But, before mentioning Nehru, Modi paid tributes to Savarkar and said the people of the country are thankful to Bapu, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Babasaheb Ambedkar, Veer Savarkar who gave their lives on the path of duty. "Kartvya path hi unka jeevan path raha," he said.

    As India celebrates the 75th Independence Day with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm, police in the national capital have made stringent security arrangements, especially at the Red Fort, from where Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered his address.

    The police have installed over 1,000 high-resolution CCTV cameras in the vicinity of the Red Fort to prevent any threat.

    Notably, the city is currently under a heavy security cover after the intelligence agencies received inputs of a possible terror attack in the wake of Independence Day.

    "We should celebrate the diversity of India....At home too, the roots of unity are sowed when both the son and the daughter are equal. If they are not, the mantra of unity cannot reverberate.

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday urged people to focus their energy on the five resolutions of making India a developed nation, removing every trace of bondage, taking pride in its heritage, unity, and fulfilling their duties in the next 25 years.

    "By the 100th year of Independence, we have to work with the vision of accomplishing what our freedom fighters dreamt of," he said while addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the 76th Independence Day.

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said the two big challenges before the country are nepotism and dynasty, and corruption, asserting that "we have to fight" against these together.

    5G mobile services to start soon, says PM Modi

    India will soon see the advent of 5G mobile services, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Monday as he rooted for 'Made-in-India' technology solutions to meet challenges of new India.

    The Prime Minister said that it is time for India's techade and digital technology is going to bring in reforms in every area.

    "India's techade is here! With 5G, semiconductor manufacturing & Optical Fibre Cable (OFCs) in villages, we are bringing a revolution through Digital India to the grassroots level," Modi said.

    He said that the Digital India Movement with production of semiconductors, 5G networks and optical fibre network show strength in three segments -- education, health facilities and change in common man's lives.

    Modi said that India's industrial growth will come from the grassroots.

    "Our Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), street vendors & those working in the organised sectors need to be strengthened," he said.

    Modi vowed to fight against corruption with full vigour.

    "We have to fight against corruption with all our strength. In the last eight years, use of Aadhaar, Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and mobile phones were used to find Rs 2 lakh crore of black money," he said.
