Congress leaders condole demise of former Kerala CM Oommen Chandy

Oommen Chandy, aged 79, was undergoing treatment for cancer in Bengaluru.

Former Kerala Chief Minister and Congress leader Oommen Chandy passed away on July 18 in Bengaluru. Several Congress leaders and leaders from different political spectrums expressed grief over his demise.  
Congress MLA and former Kerala LoP Ramesh Chennithala condoled his demise and said he was the people’s leader and that his association with people of Kerala will be remembered. 
Oommen Chandy, aged 79, was undergoing treatment for cancer in Bengaluru. Former Kerala CM represented Puthupally constituency in Kottayam for more than 50 years. He first represented Puthupally in 1970 and later became a Minister in former CM K Karunakaran’s Ministry in 1977.
